West L.A. Music hosts clinic with Akira Jimbo

LOS ANGELES, CA –On Wednesday Oct 25th, West LA Music held an amazing drum seminar with Akira Jimbo! Akira is the #1 drummer from Japan and he demonstrated his flawless technique of 4-way independence, speed, endurance and his mastering of combining acoustic and electronic drumming. Held in West LA Music's exclusive outdoor ampitheatre, Akira drew approximately 250 drummers on a beautiful warm evening.

Glenn Noyes, Drum manager for West LA Musc introduced Akira to the crowd and after playing to several opening tracks, Akira continued to entertain the audience with his knowledge of drumming from around the world, demonstrations of hand/foot combinations, playing with triggers and creating melodies on his drums, and his humor of being a drummer.

Yamaha, Zildjian, Vic Firth, Simon Productions and Remo sponsored the event and West LA Music gave away over $600 worth of their products at a drawing after the event. Akira stayed for over an hour and signed autographs and took pictures with all of the lucky fans. This was his last date on a 10 city nationwide tour and he said that this experience was by far the best of all the shows!
