Guitar Tone Clinic and All-Star Jam Featuring
Slew of Legendary Guitarists
Evan Skopp, Seymour Duncan, Laurence Juber, Charlie Waymire, Chris Manning, and George Lynch jamming at Baked Potato
LOS ANGELES, CA — West L.A. Music and world-renown guitar pickup makers, Seymour Duncan held the Seymour Duncan Guitar Tone Clinic and All-Star Jam. Mr. Duncan and product expert Evan Skopp discussed the finer points of purchasing pickups for different guitars and demonstrated the secrets of getting great guitar tones. Mr. Duncan enlightened the audience by detailing the history of guitar pickups and the inception of the Seymour Duncan company. Attendees delighted to Seymour's personal anecdotes that included stories of learning to amplify his guitar through a television set in his youth, and repairing former Police guitarist, Andy Summers' guitar when a transformer on the subway completely demagnetized his pickups. The clinic was a relaxed and educational presentation held at West L.A. Music's Universal City location on August 24, 2004.
Following the clinic all attendees were invited to join Seymour and his All-Star Band at the Baked Potato nightclub in Universal City for a blues jam later that evening. The event quickly turned into a blistering blues-rock set as Seymour was joined on stage by a who's who of veteran guitarists that included George Lynch, Blues Saraceno, Dweezil Zappa, and former Wings guitarist, Laurence Juber. Seymour Duncan endorsee, guitarist, Adrian Galysh, drummer Charlie Waymire and bassist Philip Bynoe provided the backbone to the music as the band's rhythm section throughout the set.
