LOS ANGELES, CA — West L.A. Music and Sales Manager Mark Spiwak were presented an Excellence in Service award for outfitting a new multimedia center for the Boys and Girls Club of San Pedro, California. The award was presented by Jim DeCicco of James Lawrence Design Studio who worked with Spiwak and the Boys and Girls Club to design the state of the art facility.
The new multimedia center features the latest in digital recording and mixing, with real-time digital video content creation. Students will be able to record bands, score music for film or video, shoot a three camera music video with special effects and burn to DVD in real time. The center, scheduled to open this fall, will be used by Boys and Girls Club members between the ages of 11 and 18.
"West L.A. Music's expertise and relationships with manufacturers was the key element that enabled James Lawrence Design Studio to spec-in such an abundance of top end gear," said DeCicco. "Mark Spiwak's knowledge of the equipment and the industry enabled us to work out a package that maximized the gear for the budget and offered the most diversity and expandability for the future. Mark's experience and follow through helped make the project a success."
