NYPD films at West L.A. Music

NYPD Blue Star, Gordon Clapp, with West LA Music drum manager,
Glenn Noyes, and NYPD Blue co-star Henry Simmons

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 5, 2001 — "Lights, camera, action!" West L.A. Music's Los Angeles location was recently used to film an upcoming NYPD Blue episode. Over 50 NYPD Blue crew members took part in setting up the perfect "stolen guitar" scene. The scene involved leading actors Gordon Clapp and Henry Simmons and focused on a stolen Les Paul guitar valued at $10,000. In the scene, NYPD detectives question the acting store manager and the salesperson who purchased the stolen guitar.

NYPD Blue set designers transformed West L.A. Music's Guitar Department into a "New York City" music store. When the show is aired however, viewers will not see any mention of West L.A. Music, because the show is set in New York City.

The NYPD Blue crew was very excited to be filming at West L.A. Music. Many of the crew members were musicians and had questions for store manager Glenn Noyes about new products and technology. By the end of the day, several cast and crew members had purchased guitar and drum products.

NYPD Blue is the latest contribution to the TV police drama genre by Emmy award-winningproducer Steven Bochco and writing partner David Milch. The show focuses on thepersonal and professional lives of the New York Police Department's 15th Precinct detective squad. The show is in its 11th season and stars Gracelle Beauvais, David Caruso, Gordon Clapp, Kim Delaney, Dennis Franz, Henry Simmons and Nicholas Turturro.
