West L.A. Music installs world-class sound system in Peace Apostolic Church

Peace Apostolic Church in Carson, California has contracted West LA Music to install an Allen & Heath iLive-112 Digital Mixing System in the 900-seat main worship hall and a GL2800 in the adjacent 300-seat Fellowship hall.  Handling multiple services each week, in addition to rehearsals, bible studies, and other events, the iLive system is configured with 40 inputs and 32 outputs in the Mix Rack with an additional 8 inputs and 8 outputs on the Control Surface to accommodate a myriad of applications.

The iLive’s per-channel processing is used for EQing and Compressing inputs as well as EQing the room on the 1/3 octave graphic EQs on the outputs.  4 DCAs are set up to handle levels on the drums, keyboards, choir, and praise team.  Matrix outputs are configured for the balcony and the overflow fellowship hall.

“The pre-amps are what really stood out for me,” says Andre Lamb, Peace Apostolic’s Chief Audio Engineer,  “such a warm sound!  Everybody is overjoyed with the sound in our Church. Our band and Choir recently visited and performed at a sister church, and when they returned they were all saying Whoa, we are so spoiled by our church’s sound quality now – we’ve gotten used to being able to hearing everything so clearly!’”

Andre also commented, “the analog-style layout of the iLive has made a huge difference in getting us up and running fast.  Coming from an analog background, the iLive is really familiar and comfortable to mix on!”

Instrumental in the sale were Noel Gould at West L.A. Music who recommend the iLive product over other options and managed the installation and training, and John Stack from Audio Geer who provided excellent customer service. West L.A. Music and Audio Geer went above and beyond to make sure that all of the Church’s needs were taken care of and that the Audio staff was fully knowledgeable about configuration and operation of the console.
