LOS ANGELES, CA — West L.A. Music's annual holiday party was one of the best ever this year, filled with fantastic music and celebrity guests. Held at the famed Riviera Country Club, West L.A. Music employees, friends, and family enjoyed a lively afternoon with a hearty brunch menu and flowing champagne. Ray Charles made a surprise appearance, accompanied by his long-time engineer, Terry Howard. Ray has been a customer and friend of West L.A. Music for many years.

Activities included caroling, cookie decorating, and photos with Santa. A magician was on hand to wow the guests, and guests had their portraits done by a Disney silhouette artist.

The guests enjoyed music by the band "Truth," led by Ellis Hall, former keyboard player and lead singer for Tower of Power. Ellis has also performed with Huey Lewis, James Taylor, Jason Scheff of Chicago, Bobby Womack, George Duke, Freddie Hubbard, Natalie Cole, Taj Mahal, Bo Diddley and Earth, Wind & Fire.

Band members included Carlos Murguia, currently working with Gloria Estefan, on keys and vocals; Johnny Friday, whose credits include Tom Scott, Stevie Wonder and Kenny Loggins, on drums; Morris O'Connor, who has performed and recorded with Stevie Wonder, on guitar; and Jason Freese, currently touring with Joe Walsh, on saxophone. The merriment was heightened by Stan Freese, Talent and Casting Director of Disney Entertainment and former tubist for the show "Hee Haw".
